Winner of the top prizes at Locarno and Sarajevo, this subtle, empathetic film is set in a Zurich café staffed by three women from Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia, though they left at different times and for different reasons. Two of them take on roles almost equivalent to mother and daughter, but their relationship is fraught with unspoken tension, not least because the younger woman is harbouring a life-changing secret.
