Cantata 211 "Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht" ("Be quiet and cease your chatting") was probably performed several times at Zimmermann's coffee house, a perfect setting for a mini-opera on the subject of coffee addiction. Alongside it in this programme is a performance of Cantata 209 'Non sa che sia dolore', a cantata about the pain and joy of a loved one's absence and return. The beautiful opening sinfonia of this work is the closest Bach came to writing a flute concerto.
