    A church minister of the New Apostolic Church quotes from the Bible to lay a young married couple's conflict to rest. Afterwards, nothing more is said about the woman's adultery. Their son grows up in a deceptive idyll together with his family and his brothers and sisters. He never really registers the fact that his appearance is unusual for a German. In his early twenties his father reveals the supposed truth of his son's origins in a rage.

    Anaesthesia Heritage Centre comprises of the archives, library and museum of the association. The archives contain the papers of the Association dating back to its foundation in 1932 as well as collections of individual anaesthetists and specialist societies. A substantial collection of photographs is also available.

    Anaesthesia Heritage Centre comprises of the archives, library and museum of the association. The library originally consisted principally of the collections of Dr K Bryn Thomas, A Charles King and Dr J Alfred Lee. It has expanded over the years and continues to do so through purchases and donations. The books and pamphlets that can be found in the library collection contain information on a range of subjects relating to the work of anaesthetists. The library does not include modern journals and pamphlets but concentrates on the history of anaesthesia, pain relief and resuscitation.

Its collections date from 1774 to the present day and provide a detailed insight into the history of medicine relating to anaesthesia and anaesthetic equipment as well as pain relief and resuscitation.
