Explore the story of the teachers, students and graduates of Liverpool School of Architecture, alongside the work they have produced. The country's oldest university school of architecture has helped influence British architectural training and drawn students from across the globe, who have gone on to shape the built environment at all levels. A section of the exhibition examines the fascinating history of the Polish School of Architecture that existed at the School during the Second World War. Here architects and students were offered sanctuary from occupied Poland, putting in place plans to help rebuild the country after liberation.

Exhibition3 December 2009 to 31 January 2010
Aicon Gallery W1B 4BU[map]
Aicon Gallery - London presents an exhibition titled, 'Wound', work by the Indian modern master Somnath Hore, who died in 2006. Hore is considered one of the pioneers of the 20th century modern art movement in India. He is respected not only as an important artist but also as a political activist, who has over the years, boldly used his talents as a graphic artist and sculptor to express his own personal angst against a socio-political system which breeds acts of violence. His works were a reaction to major historical crises and events, in particular of 20th century Bengal, such as the Bengal Famine of 1943 and the Tebhaga movement.
