According to the ancient Mayan calender, the world will end in 2012 and the protagionists who have vowed to stop this catastrophe must deal with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers.

A concert from a new choir conducted by Adam Assen. Formed in May, the choir sing a variety of styles including modern classical, African and gospel music. They have both new and experienced members who enjoy the social aspects of this choir as much as the singing, with rehearsals held in pub music venue the Grey Horse. Singers arrive with a drink in hand but concentrate on their rehearsals, accompanied by pianist Stuart Thompson.

Amelia Earhart (Hilary Swank) is considered by many to be the legendary aviatrix and enigmatic symbol of the American free spirit, who was guided by a profound curiosity for everything life had to offer. Earhart's early aviation triumphs and meteoric rise to fame and fortune were propelled along by her tempestuous partnership and eventual marriage to publisher George Putnam (Richard Gere). Bound by mutual ambition, admiration and, ultimately a great love, their bond could not be broken even with her brief passionate affair with Gene Vidal (Ewan McGregor).

The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames has a rich archaeological heritage. The Ancient Origins gallery displays many of the items from the Palaeolithic Period through to the Pagan Saxon period. Flint artefacts from the Thames, Bronze weaponry dating from 900BC, Roman coins and a Pagan Saxon human burial are all features of this gallery.

Larry is a good husband and father, and a conscientious professor at a quiet Midwestern university. He always tries to do the fair and just thing in the face of life's temptations and trials. Then one day, everything starts to go wrong, his wife leaves him for reasons she can't explain, and her pompous new lover muscles in on the family and their home, convincing the already cash-strapped Larry to move into a motel. His career is put in jeopardy by a series of anonymous letters falsely accusing him of unspecified misdemeanours, and his unemployable brother is becoming more and more of a burden.
