Discover the London of Charles Dickens - where he worked, walked and drank - and see the settings for some of his greatest scenes on this seasonal walk running for a limited period only, from 4 November 2009 to 3 January 2010. Created to celebrate the release of Disney's A Christmas Carol - a new film adaptation of Dickens's classic tale - we've replaced our usual programme of guided walks with this special tour of the City as Charles Dickens would have known it. Along the way, there's the chance to take in some of London's finest examples of Victorian architecture, including the splendid Leadenhall Market with its cobbled streets and ironwork and the magnificent Royal Exchange. There'll be a bit of a Christmas spirit too as our guides describe the Christmas traditions of Dickens's day, from stuffing the goose to the bells of the 50 or more ancient City churches that rang out on Christmas morning.
