    A class for graphics professionals to learn how to create visual effects animation in 3DS Max. Participants should have a basic knowledge of 3D digital software. The class covers animation dynamics Reactor© in 3DS Max, and students create complex animations, collisions, cloth and fabric animation and rigged car systems. Look at standard particle systems, including super spray, snow, blizzard, meta particles (simple liquid) and particle array. Then create custom-made particle systems using the 3DS Max powerful particle flow (pflow) system. Work on hair, fur and material-based visual effects, including mental ray shaders, and create environmental elements such as fog, fire, surface water and smoke.

    Andrew Manze is known to many for his captivating and daring performances on the Baroque violin, even though today he is a conductor working primarily with modern orchestras. In the fourth annual Lufthansa Lecture he examines the state of Baroque performance at a time when more and more 'modern' musicians are aware of historical issues and ever higher performing standards are demanded of them, and explores the relationships between iconoclasm and tradition, knowledge and intuition.
