Formed in Pontypridd in the late nineties, Lostprophets were part of the flegling South Wales metal/post-hardcore scene that produced bands such as Funeral for a Friend and Bullet For My Valentine. Originally a nu-metal band with the name Lozt Prophetz, the band found recognition with their debut album Thefakesoundofprogress in 2001. However, as nu-metal drew its dying breaths, Lostprophets ditched their turntables for more trendy keyboards and synths and went on to conquer the US with their follow-up records Start Something and Liberation Transmission.

At each performance, the three companies dance specially commissioned work from world-leading choreographers. Martin Lawrance (Richard Alston Dance Company) is collaborating with Scottish Ballet, National Dance Company Wales perform a new production by Christopher Bruce (Rambert Dance Company, Royal Ballet, English National Ballet), and Itzik Galili (Netherlands Dance Theatre, Rambert, National Dance Company Wales) is creating a piece for English National Ballet. 'Dance GB' is a unique opportunity to see three national companies perform specially commissioned work by international choreographers, each piece celebrating the breathtaking power and athleticism of these incredible dancers. 'Dance GB' also features the screening of a short film created as part of Dancing Parallel, a national project run by the three national companies bringing young people together to create a performance combining ballet, contemporary dance and parkour.
