The Horniman Holiday Workshop in Egyptian Canopic Jars is a full-day workshop is for children aged eight and over, without their adults. It explores such issues as what the ancient Egyptians did with the lungs, livers and stomachs they removed when mummifying bodies. Professional artist Judith Hope takes attendees to visit the genuine Canopic jars in the Egyptian collection, where they can try to identify the contents from the special lids, then plan and create their very own Canopic jar and lid and make some vital organs to go inside.
