From the first trumpet blast of its legendary overture to the last white-hot spotlight, 'Gypsy' is considered by many to be the best musical ever. This kaleidoscope of life in the theatre during the 1920s tells the backstage tale of entertainer turned stripper Gypsy Rose Lee and her domineering overbearing mother, Rose, who battles stage directors, theatre owners and hotel managers in her efforts to push her daughters toward stardom during the dying days of vaudeville. It is a musical fable created by three award-winning theatrical giants, Laurents, Styne and Sondheim, with a legendary score boasting such classics as 'Everything’s Coming Up Roses', 'Together Wherever We Go', 'Let Me Entertain You' and 'Some People'.
