Ben l'oncle Soul's performances are a wild celebration of everything that's thrilling about the classic soul revues. He grew up listening to Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin, and combines Ray Charles-style R&B, Motown groove and Stax-y horns with reggae and hip-hop. Since fulfilling his dream by signing to Motown France, he's become a hit in his home country and now plays his first British concert at the London Jazz Festival.

The sassy Dutch star sings of a whirlwind love affair, wrapping her lyrics around a starlit rum-tipsy piano-jive melody. While eyes look forward to the next big sound, her influences stretch right back to a post war sound and aesthetic, inspired by her love of 40s and 50s film and music, crafting a world full of carefree players and glamorous women.

Following the success of his first ever headline June/July tour where he played to sell out crowds in Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester and Bristol, Charlie Simpson today announced he'll be heading back on the road in October to play eight UK shows to even bigger crowds, including a date at London's Islington Academy. The tour will be the perfect live showcase for Charlie's debut solo record. After spending six months of last year holed up writing in his London studio, Charlie joined forces with acclaimed producer Danton Supple (Coldplay, Doves) to begin recording the album. The result is an accomplished 12 track record that emanates vintage warmth.
