Go only if you really have nothing to do!

It's alright but obviously a touristy thing. I wouldn't go back there. Really small and can be done in 30mins.

I love history and am a crime buff so I thought this would be a good way to spend some time. Entrance is 5 GBP and not worth more than 1. bad wax figures with bad sound effects, like a high school haunted house. the potential for a place like this is enormous, but not at all realized in this tourist trap.

I've read other comments that people have made about this museum. I visited today with two of my children and not only did the sight offer a bit of blood (not much noted) but an amazing history that my children truly loved.

The staf were very friendly and seemed to bend backwards to help my children in understanding the subject. Truly wondrful to see staff that know what they're talking about.

I you want the true history of Crim and punishment this is the museum for you, if you want the blood and guts and incorrect stories that will scare your kids for life go to the Dungeons.

Thanks again to the nice man who answered all of our questions and I would highly recommend to any parents wanting to propely educate their children.

I had walked past this place before and thought it looked interesting, as I am interested history and how people used to live.

So me and my girlfriend were walking past after a couple of drinks on the South Bank and though it would be worth a look. The first thing that needs to be known is its 5 pound entry. Which is quite a lot seeing it takes a only 20 minuet walk through.

So what do you get for the money! Not much!! Ok I can except it small but the quality of what they fit into the space is poor.

There is info on the walls about what was happening around the time. But it seemed they just copied a giant wad of text and plonked it on the wall. Its not very interesting, and neither me of my girlfriend made it all the way through any of them. I have read a couple of books on life in the west end back then, Jack the Ripper etc so I do read! Its just boring and did not related to the prison.

There's the standard life-size models of prison inmates getting tortured, with a tape playing with their voices. Its ok, but not great. I never got a feel of what it was like day to day living there.

The info on how they used to be tourtured was interesting though on a plus side.

Overall its a pretty lazy museum, and as someone really interest in this stuff would have loved for it to be better.

Just a note to any staff who might read this. Its not very professional for the staff to find a spelling mistake on a plack on the wall and correct it in pen with an arrow. It should be replaced! Its one of the first thing you read in the place!!

We came to the clink not for blood and guts but for an insight into what prison life was like in the 1800, if you have got time to read there is alot of information available, a small museum with a lot of information packed in, if you are into crime and punishment then its well worth a visit.
