Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is the absolute best spot in London to people watch. Situated within walking distance of Westminister Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, theatre district and Piccadilly Circus (amongst others), grab a seat near the entrance of the National Gallery and watch people from all walks of life pass by.

Trafalgar Square is one of London's not-to-be-missed sights. Not only it's buzzling with people, but it'll also give you an amazing view of the Houses of Parliament in the distant. Be sure to pay it a visit in the days before Christmas. Every year, a giant Christmas tree (given by the people of Norway) is placed in the middle of the square, and if you're lucky you'll even see and hear some Carol singers.

I visited Trafalagar Square on three occasions in early April and was delighted by the ambience of this public square. The diverse views - of St. Martin's-in-the Fields, the National Gallery and Big Ben - are all wonderful! The Square was only slightly crowded in early April - in contrast to the hordes of tourists in the summer months!
