An excellent place in London
I've been to Harrods many times and I've always been enchanted by the shop, the Egyptian hall, the food hall, etc. I would like here to mention especially the Georgian restaurant; the food is really excellent, I enjoyed to be served by an amiable waiter who could speak French with me (I thank him a lot for that, he remembers me each time I come there).
I would like too especially to thank the lovely pianist who accepted me to take some pictures of her during playing. Thank you, you are lovely and you play extremely well. I'll enjoy to see you again and to give you your pictures.
Best Gelati!!!
I love Harrods!!!
Has pretty much everything you need a departmental store. The stuff here is not very cheap but seriously were you expecting anything less?
The food has is a foodie's haven! Gelati is one of the best I've had. Krispy Kremes are there too.
Great place to browse even though it is pricey and most definitely worth a look!
Rude Staff!
Attended yesterday to get my tradditional photo with santa as i send it to my grandma from all over the world every year as her gift and was denied by a very ride Angelica in customer services. Advised i was too old to see santa and only children are allowed! Im sorry but who decides when a 25 year old is too old to get a photograph to make her grandma happy. Will never go back there!
Give Harrods a break
I visited London for a long weekend at the beginning of December 2007 and like most tourists visited Harrods, which I have done many times before. Yes Harrods can be expensive and a lot of items are horrendously overpriced but isn't that part of the "charm" of the place? To have a look at items that we would love to be able to afford to buy but can (for most of us) only dream about owning? Not all items are grossly overpriced, you just take the time to look around. The food halls are amazing and have to be seen to be believed. I have always found the staff to be very courteous and friendly. I have never come across 1 who is rude or looks like they would rather be somewhere else. So what if there's a rememberance book for Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed? He was the owners son and she was his girlfriend at the time of their deaths. When I was there lots of people were looking at the memorials and signing the book. If people don't have a problem with it then leave them be. We can all make our own decisions after all. If you didn't enjoy your experience visiting Harrods then don't go back but leave it alone for the rest of us who enjoy wandering around and looking at the wonderful displays. Long live Harrods!
Harrods have a guide book
I visited Harrods in August 2004. My first impressions of Harrods was that it was a huge Store, having come all the way from New Zealand, we don't have stores this huge. I was lucky enough to have a friend who works in Harrods and he gave me a guide book that is available to everyone, this guide book shows each floor of Harrods and all the different deparments, cafe's, where toilets are etc. I was very impressed with this, as even though he did show me around some of the floors, he also left me to look around by myself and thanks to the guide book, I managed to negoiate my way around rarther successfully, ok I admit I did get a bit lost, but without the guide book, it could have been worse. I think visiting Harrods was a great experience and I loved the food halls as well as the Egyptian Staircase this was so impressive like nothing I will see again for some time. I found Harrods to be upmarket but totally classic, and yes I did buy a great electronic toy for 12 Pounds which I couldn't find anywhere else. So I was happy. Everything about Harrods says class to me, the toilets are amazing as well. You have to see to believe. A great Experience.
