St Christophers Village - Southbank

Gran gran gran lugar!
The usual St Christophers: good and bad
This hostel is more or less what you can expect from a St Christopher's London hostel: the staff can vary from very nice and helpful to rude, the room are basic and always look like the need to be renewed, the bathrooms are acceptable, cleaniness is not bad.
The atmosphere is however nice, with many international travellers and the Belushi bar at the ground floor (which is open until late night, so it's good for some food or a last pint).
This hostel is located between London Bridge and Borough tube station, so it's in a good location as you can walk to Tower Bridge, City, Tate Modern, etc. The place is nice during the day, but I didn't feel safe walking around the area at late night, even though it's probably safe.
good location, okay rooms
My sister and I did a tour of Europe and stayed here while we were in London. The hostel was alright, the rooms were okay, but the mattresses weren't so great. You could feel all the springs in them. We also had an issue because we were told when we checked in that we would have to change rooms during our stay. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was somewhat inconvenient as we had to be out of our room by 10 am so we had to pack all of our things up and lug our suitcases downstairs and store them in the luggage rooms. Not a big deal, but the padlocks we had brought were too big for the lockers and they wouldn't give us one at reception even though they sold them there and we were not storing our luggage of our own free will. Then we had to move our things back upstairs later that day. It wasn't a huge problem or anything, but the staff was definitely not rushing to make it easier for us. The bar was a good place to hang out, it was definitely like a dorm party. There was also a free breakfast in the morning but it was just toast and cold cereal. Nothing to get excited about. Overall I would say it was an okay place to stay because of the location (right by London Bridge), but only if you expect some inconveniences.
It's a dorm at a party university.
Have you been to University or College? And there's always at least that one dorm/rez that all about the party? This place is it. Don't expectfrills. I have serious doubts the matress sheets were clean, and the Duvet cover - no chance they changed those. There is a bar downstairs and that pretty much sums this place up. They describe it as a party hostel, and while you can get away with staying there without the party, don't be surprise. Pluses for the neighbouthood, it's close to the Tate Modern, the Globe, and only a 15 minute walk to Waterloo station where you hop on the Eurostar.
