Ich habe bisher noch nie einen Bericht zu irgendeinem Hotel geschrieben, konnte es aber gar nicht erwarten, mich über dieses schreckliche Hotel auszulassen.

Ich verbrachte eine Nacht mit meiner Frau in dem Hotel, weil wir am nächsten Tag einen Anschlussflug nach Antigua hatten.

Die Hauptprobleme waren:

1. Wir mussten unsere Koffer eine Treppe zu unserem Zimmer hoch schleppen (es gab in diesem Teil des Hotels keinen Aufzug). 2. Zum Abendessen gab es ein abstoßendes Büffetessen, harte Kartoffeln und fleckige Desserts zur Selbstbedienung, lecker! Man musste vor dem Essen 15 Pfund bezahlen, das Hotel wusste wohl, dass man danach nicht mehr zahlen wollte.

3. (Die schlimmste Sache) Unter der Bettdecke fühlt man sich total unwohl, man hat das Gefühl, dass sie nicht gewaschen und schmutzig ist, die Einrichtung des Badezimmers war wohl der letzte Schrei in den Achtzigern, als es eingerichtet wurde.

Wenn Sie nicht viel Geld haben und kein anderes Hotel in Gatwick finden, sollten Sie besser campen, ich habe schon besser auf dem Boden geschlafen.

Danke Europa, ich werde dir kein Geld mehr geben... nie wieder!

Stay away from this awful place if you have any standards at all. It is NOT like the brochure. It is dirty, rundown so badly the stuffing is hanging out of the chairs, cold, dark, horrible. The place should be closed down.

We arrived late so we were stranded there. Did not take my clothes off all night!

If you search the Internet you should find some honest reviews about this dump. Try Travelocity.

We were only here for one night before we flew on holiday, which was a relief. First impressions weren't too bad - the reception area looked quite nice, if a bit old fashioned and probably a fire trap with all that wood.

The room smelt of smoke, despite being non smoking, and was very tired and in need of an update. It was certainly not clean enough, and I saw a false nail on the carpet left by a previous tenant, which made me feel a bit squeamish to say the least.

Everywhere in the hotel had a sticky feel about it, like it all needed a good boil. Walking down the endless corridors reminded me of the Overlook Hotel in the Shining, and I swear if Jack Nicholson had burst through a door with an axe I wouldn't have been surprised.

I paid £47 for the room, which wasn't a huge amount, but according to the tariff on the wall, they charge £120 a night to poor souls who arrive without a booking. If I'd paid that I would have been really mad.

Would not stay there again, and advise other travellers to avoid.
