Saturday evening in Simpson was an enjoyable evening out. We were late and the restaurant called to check we were still coming- nice touch. The food was fine, not exceptional but OK for the price. I thought the wines were expensive- the cheapest bottles were around £25-30 which is high for some low end Chilean plonk. They should really have a reasonable house wine at around £20. Otherwise, it was a pleasant evening and I will no doubt go back.

The whole experience was amazing. Great food, excellent service by friendly, unpretentious staff. I will be returning here whenever I get the chance. Recommend a stalls berth if with 4 people. Excellent.

Our numbers reduced so we were moved to a booth which was good. However, one of the diner's pork was not cooked to his satisfaction so we had to wait almost an hour to get our main course.

Simpson's in the Strand has excellent front of house and serving staff. The menu is dull beyond compare and the execution meets the menu.
