Science Museum

Free admittance, hands on experiences.
A fun museum packed with things to see ... and touch. This is a good museum to bring teens. There are several interactive exhibits. The museum is large and you can spend several hours on each of the floors. It is also right next door to the Natural History Museum. If you combine the two you can have a very full day.
Boring .... and annoying
Me and my fiance were very disappointed with this museum. It was very difficult to navigate around the floors and find your way around the place. There were several large empty spaces with no exhibits and the musuem is mainly ful of cafes, shops and attractions that you have to pay for. Many of the exhibits and interactive stations were either too crowded or not working or so poorly lit that you could not read about what you were looking at. We have traveled the world and visted many wonderful musuems ...this has to be one of the most disappointing and poorly organised musuems I have ever visited. The IMAX cinema was even worse and poor value for money with the only decent bit of 3D film being the credits at the end of the movie .... do not pay to see this.
Lots to see
We visited the science museum on a friday after the natural history mueum at around midday. There were no queues at all. There is tonnes to see but a few of the exhibitions were closed. Lots of big displays which helps to hold your attention. I dont even think we saw everything this museum has to offer!
The eating area on the ground floor was very crowded and noisey and not much on offer in the way of sandwiches - they all contained tuna or salmon which was not good for my hubby as he hates tuna and salmon! You are better off bringing a packed lunch which is a cheaper option also!
There was an interactive area on the 2nd of 3rd floor which was extremly over crowded and noisey so we ended up leaving.
We especially enjoyed the F1 section and the aircraft section.
Its a great day out and glad we visited and would recommend it to families especially.
Science Heaven!
I took my mum to the Science Museum, she's old and doesn't get out much so this place was ideal. The shop was fantastic! They had a big ramp leading down to it. I liked the lifts you could see out of. As for the galleries, they're chock full of weird and wonderful stuff. We saw some old clocks, telephones, tables and chairs and some missiles used in a war. But I especially liked Launchpad - one day I'll work there myself. Best thing? Definitely the Question Room, it was comfortable.
It Rocks!
The kids loved it, I loved it. The visitor service was amazing. Everyone should go.
