Nice decore. The chicken madras was excellent, great tender chicken in a really good sauce. The mushroom curry was not so great. Very friendly atmosphere and they have various offers on outside toptable. Toilets were a let down, small and smelly!

The Elephant in Harrow is a lovely Indian place. The staff were polite and friendly, the surroundings slightly quirky and homely. Our mixed platter starter was fantastic! Home-made, delicious and spicy, but not too hot. One of the prawn mains was disappointingly mild and the prawns were not king prawns as advertised. That was our main gripe. The other two curries we had, one fish and the other lamb, had all the qualities of a lovingly prepared dish by a skilful Indian cook, bursting with flavour

Elephant always provides amazing food, but the service is slow, and it took 5 requests to different waiters before I finally received a glass of tap water. The decor is striking, but spoiled by the malodorous toilets.
