Nahm

About Nahm

Situated within the high class Halkin hotel in upmarket Belgravia, Nahm is unlike any other Thai restaurant in London and quite possibly beyond. Chic settings are reminiscent perhaps of a modern Thai palace; antiqued gold pillars surround the dining room where simple richly toned wood is lifted with touches of regal deep red, just a suggestion of Nahm’s cuisine. An original and creative Thai experience, the menu is the work of Australian chef David Thompson who has put together dishes delicately spiced with his own artful hand to bring a flavour of Thailand in to the world of gourmet cuisine. A lunch menu based around Thai street food is an additional touch of genius.

Nahm in London serves modern Thai fare, in a fairly nice setting, which is what you would expect of a Thai michelin starred restaurant in Belgravia. Do not go in expecting classic traditional Thai food and you will not be (too) disappointed. Most dishes were interesting, but are not what I would simply call 'yummy' and for that reason I will not return. As to whether this place deserves a michelin star? Definitely not.

My wife and I had dined at Nahm in Belgravia several times previously and the food and service lived up to expectations. We thought that the "heat" was a little more heavy handed than before and my wife couldn't really cope with the hot and sour soup. Nevertheless we had a lovely lunch. Nahm isn't cheap but as a once in a while extravagance we feel it's worth it.

Probably my favorite restaraunt in London, Nahm combines flavours that leave you dreaming of it for days. On my 1st visit, my friend and I did the tasting menu and had it all at once, which I highly recommend. The flavours of each dish were remarkable on their own, but when blended with the other dishes, it created an endless variety of flavours like I had never experienced. My 2nd visit was with my bf who does not like seafood, it was still great, although I feel seafood is their strength.

Nahm, London We had the (lunch time) Thai menu. Food was great, especially the langoustine salad. Sadly the black ash pudding wasn't available (loved it before!). In all other respects an excellent meal!
