Recommended. About a 15 minute walk from the Sloane Square tube station. Free admission. This 3 story building is well done with displays from the 1800's, World War I and II. Interactive displays, things for the kids to try on pick up and froze action sets make this a nice fine for any military buff. Son, 14, a big WWII fan throughly enjoyed the outing. This is a nice hidden find in London and worth the slight out of the way journey. Sloan Square is a trendy upscale area with numerous eateries . The museum itself is next to a large hospital and in a residential area.

I enjoyed my visit to the Nantional Army Museum in November of 2007. Certainly not on the same level as the Imperial War Museum but still very enjoyable. Quite a number of paintings that I enjoyed very much along with several very interesting exhibits. They also have a very nice gift shop and a very friendly staff.

This museum is somewhat difficult to locate (at least for me) but I finally found it with the help of some very nice folks who live in the neighborhood. I would certainly recommend a visit to the N.A.M. if you're going to London and have an interest in military history.

So, if you are not interest in military related displayes, don't go.

The museum, in itself is quite big. However, the main items on display are uniforms and medals. For me, the exhibition of the Imperial War Museum was much more interesting and varied.

My brother found it a complete yawn (he is not interested in military history). He found the Imperial War Museum more to his liking.

It covers the history of the British Army from the restoration to today. I found it well done and informative.
