Guanabara
About Guanabara
With its passion for music and full-on flavours, Guanabara has brought the best of Brazil to London’s Drury Lane. With two bars and a huge circular dance floor, it’s no surprise that this vibrant venue stays busy and bustling until the early hours. As well as showcasing hot new Brazilian bands and DJs, Guanabara also offers a taste of the various cooking styles from across the country. Start with snacks like cassava chips and chicken wings, then move on to something from the grill or the traditional feijoada (a hearty Brazilian stew with black beans, smoked pork and salt beef). Wash it all down with a bold South American wine or one of their excellent cocktails, made with exotic fruit flown in from Amazonian eco-farms.

Guanabara, Covent Garden : Celebrated my birthday here and for a Monday, the atmosphere was good. The service was given with a smile and although it may have been better with more staff, we enjoyed ourselves and were served food timely. With the 50% off in Jan offer, all of us were very well fed (including a lot of drinks) and our cake was also brought with candles at the end of the meal (cake was our own). I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to visit again on a weekend.
Guanabara fro teh pre-theatre menu - we were given the additional 50% off as well. The 2 courses included a starter and a steak - the cheapest steak I've ever had and very well prepared. Has to be the best deal ever - my friend and i ahd 2 cocktails, 2 starters nad 2 mains (rib eye steaks) and the whole bill was £14.50!
We tried Gunabara for the first time on a saturday evening. first impressions as we entred were a little worring however as we got upstair to the venue we were pleased. the night was enjoyable good food and drink and with the 50% off it was very good value for money. only let down was having to wait over 1 hour for the bill which meant missing our last train. however kept occupied by brazilian dancers and live music. would go again
Great food albeit a little expensive for what it was, great atmosphere and half price on cocktails! Although I was a little disappointed that we were asked to vacate our table after 2 hours to make room for other reservations.
Good place to have dinner, drinks and dancing in the same place... Live music/ performers and lots of dancing of tables. Book a later table for dinner and keep your table for the entire night!

Bal Masque with Paraiso Samba School at Guanabara
Special Event18 Feb 2012
Although the mighty Samba parade is the best-known feature of the Rio Carnival, it is hundreds of local 'balls' that are the main attraction for 'Cariocas' (natives of Rio) insiders. That's the atmosphere Guanabara creates on its second night of Carnival, and to make the most of the party, just wear a beautiful, mysterious, seductive and glitzy mask. Paraiso Samba School parade from Seven Dials in Covent Garden to Guanabara earlier in the day, and later that night pound out the rhythms in serious carnival style with the most funked up dancers on Guanabara's stage. DJ Limao runs the Samba-Marathon, spinning tunes guaranteed to have you moving around the floor like a true Carioca. Dress code: wear a mask.
