Eating at Savoro never disappoints. Excellent service, attentive and informative waiters. I decided to be brave and have something different this time. I drooled the last time my friend had the lamb and so decided to have the lamb this time. It was so delicious, as was the spinach. The boulangere potato stack was too buttery for me but nevertheless lovely. Green Apple Sorbet for dessert and i was made up! I could eat there every night of the week with no problem.
Fifteen of us went for Sunday lunch - food was superb... Everyone was served at the same time, no delays between courses and fabulous value for money - a little jewel in Barnet.
Food was better than expected with great fresh ingredients treated well. The starter scallops was perfect with leek "fondue" tasting good but need a bit of work on the looks. The tiger prawns were tasty but just slightly over done for my taste (objective). Had aberdeen angus sirloin & 2 tiger prawns. Prawns were perfect for the main course this time round. Very good value for money winelist with a bottle of Gesto Malbec for £20, not huge mark-ups. All in all, worth the trip and will go back
Another enjoyable visit - fabulous value for money, great food... Only gripe was having to wait twenty minutes for the dessert menu ... Other than that we had a lovely time
Savoro, hidden behind a car showroom in Barnet, is a very good European restaurant specialising in fish, though there are plenty of meat dishes too. Portions are generous and good value for money, service is attentive without being intrusive, and the wine list is reasonably economical. This is a good example of a local restaurant that is not part of a chain and that is worth a journey as the food and ambience are very fair. Possibly better for larger groups rather than couples.
