Norfolk Arms
About Norfolk Arms
From the street the Norfolk Arms is your typical London pub. A place where Charles Dickens might drink with Samuel Pepys. Mix and match benches and tables clutter the pavement where – rather than bewigged gentlemen – local business-types and shoppers refresh after a hard day at the coalface. Inside the traditional feel continues while a lively ambience and fresh paint keep the look free from old-man-and-dog territory. A new breed of gastropub, the Norfolk Arms has already gained critical acclaim, thanks in part to its novel ordering concept. Nevermind starters and mains, this is tapas-meets-home cooking, where you just keep ordering plates of food until you can scarf no more. Roast dinners, pates, scotch eggs and pork belly are joined by Mediterranean flavours throughout.

Really nice ambience and setting. We ate from the tapas menu which has a broad range of dishes (although tapas is a bit misleading as the menu comprises dishes from around the world). The meat and cheese boards both great, and would recommend the rojones and the scotch egg. Would like to see a few more Spanish classics on offer. Service was relaxed but still attentive. Nice place for just a drink too.
I hadn't been to the Norfolk Arms for over a year and I was worried it might have changed but the food is as good as ever and the service, if anything, better. My tip would be to go with people you get on very well with because you'll agree to share the tapas and then greedily want it all for yourself.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere.
In London for one night and wanted somewhere informal to eat. The Norfolk Arms was ideal for our needs. We found it lively and welcoming. The only problem was several choices we made from the menu had run out. They wre very busy and it was a Sunday evening, but we were slightly dissapointed with the lack of choice. However the food we did manage to order was very enjoyable. House white wine was lovely. Really enjoyed the ambience.
Not sure if the chef was having an off night but they forgot to deliver one of our dishes and we got it about 20 minutes after the others. Pork belly and chorizo were chewy and greasy, most other dishes were equally disappointing. Wine was in tiny servings & staff were gruff and impossible to pin down. From the rave reviews I had high expectations and was let down. I might return for a drink as the atmosphere is nice and frankly there's not much else around Kings Cross, but not for a mea
