Food was very tasty, service attentive without being obtrusive. We took our own wine & paid £4.50 corkage which was fine. All in all we had a lovely meal and would highly recommend.
For a change of scene we decided to try Esfahan in Putney after reading the reviews on toptable. The freshly baked breads with yoghurt to start were delicious! Mains were also really good but portions are huge so make sure you're hungry before you go! Staff were friendly and service was attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely return.
Esfahan lived up to expectations for excellent, Persian food. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. Our party of 4 had a relaxing, sociable evening and we will probably return, prepared next time for what had been the shock of finding that a lemonade shandy for the duty driver cost as much as wine, on a per volume basis!
Esfahan in Putney had a nice atmosphere, good prompt service and was very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend the chicken skewers - very juicy and flavorsome. The lamb with lentils stew was slightly over powering with lemon, but apart from this we had a very nice meal.
We went to Esfahan on a Thursday lunchtime. The restaurant was emply (apart from us) whch was such a shame as the food was brilliant! The two staff members there were both lovely. We popped across the road to get some wine (BYO allowed, and no corkage on a Thursday lunchtime) and stayed in the restaurant as long as we could! We will definitely be going there again. One of my friends even got a take-away for her sister, as she was jealous of us!
