A Japanese canteen style restaurant, Miyajima Restaurant offers a wide range of Eastern food to the people of London’s bustling Clapham. Relaxed and welcoming, the Miyajima Restaurant is decorated in modern style with a bold red theme complemented by unfussy black ash furnishings used throughout, and diners are seated along large benches. Reasonably priced, the menu is full of Japanese favourites including a widely varied range of sushi and sashimi, noodle dishes, tempura and yakitori with vegetarians extremely well catered for. Miyajima puts a great deal of effort in to the presentation of its food, offering dishes which look as good as they taste – fresh, colourful and full of Japanese flavour.

After many nice dinners, I have to say tonight Miyajima was disappointing. Small portions (we took a roll that was supposed to have, if I well remember, 6 pieces and it only had 5!), slow service and limited choice (apparently all desserts were over). But what I really find disappointing was that after spending more than £20 each, there was three of us, we left the place still hungry and had to go for a kebab. That was unthinkable just last month! If that's the way it is going to be then, well, it may be the end of a love story...
I was really looking forward to visiting Miyajima when I heard it was part of the same company that runs Fujiyama in Brixton. Overall I was quite happy. The food came out quickly and was delicious and the service was attentive. The resaturant lacked the atmosphere its counterpart in Brixton has and I would recommend it over Miyajima. I was happy though and if I am in Clapham again I would stop by.
Fresh sushi, great food! Noisy atmosphere so not somewhere to go for a quiet meal. Otherwise would definitely recommend
