PJ's Bar and Grill
About PJ's Bar and Grill
While other Covent Garden restaurants have come and gone, PJ’s Bar and Grill restaurant has stood the test of time since 1982 and reigns as a landmark in this part of London. The menu at PJ’s Bar and Grill is Modern European with a Californian twist and includes classic dishes like scallops wrapped in chorizo, fillet steak with peppercorn sauce and braised lamb shank with chickpeas and rosemary, though it’s the PJ’s steak hamburger with coleslaw and homemade fries that’s the eternal favourite. The wine list is thoughtfully compiled and well priced, with some interesting wines from the USA and Mexico on offer. The décor is like a classic English club with a long English oak bar, mirrors, theatre illustrations and a lively, friendly feel. PJ’s location in the heart of London’s Theatreland makes it an ideal choice for pre-show dinners, laid-back lunches and cosy catch-ups after work.

PJ's Bar and Grill in Covent Garden is a nice little bistro. The 2 courses offer was good value because the food is acceptable but not that amazing. My thai fish cakes were a bit greasy and overdone. More like dumplings than fishcakes. Though the Thai Green curry I had after was nice. And so was the sticky toffee pudding. Full price wouldn't be worth it for the food but the service was good and so was the atmosphere. Not great bathrooms though.
PJs Bar and Grill, Covent Garden. Very handy for after-theatre. Unpretentious, but not amazing food, Strange corridor-like set-up and coldly-lit in places. However the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Our waitress even went looking for a candle for the table. We were practically the last to leave and no-one even hinted for us to go.
Ate at PJ's Bar and Grill pre-theatre trip with partner. Food was great, service quick. Only thing I would say is that the table are a little close together for my liking. The two courses offer, with glass of prosecco is good value.
