Renaissance

About Renaissance

Renaissance restaurant in London's St John Street, in the heart of Islington, is the place to go for true Italian cuisine. Just a short stroll from Angel tube station, Saddlers Wells Theatre and the Old Red Lion Theatre, Renaissance is a superb choice for pre-theatre suppers or anytime dining from lunch through the afternoon to dinner. The décor is smart and modern with dark wooden floors, fresh flowers and crisply-dressed tables, but the wait staff have nothing but classic Italian warmth and generosity. Renaissance's Italian cuisine relies on the freshness of seasonal ingredients, organic wherever possible, and a commitment that you, the diner, should taste 'the true flower of Italy'. The wine list is mostly Italian with an open-minded selection of bottles from other countries. Vegetarians are decently looked after at Renaissance, too. In all, at Renaissance restaurant you will experience lovely décor, a warm welcome and seasonal dishes that are the true flavour of Italy.

Very small and a bit cramped. Good service, but the food was a little bland.

Renaissance, London, This nice little Italian Restaurant is a great pre-theatre venue for Saddlers Well's Theatre in Islington. The home-made Ice cream is a hidden treat. This is by no means a destination restaurant but good for a reasonable 3 course pre-fixe.

We had a lovely pre theatre meal at Renaissance. Dining at 6.00pm the restaurant was quiet but the service was great and we were really pleased with the quality and variety of the food. We will definitely go there again when we are in the area and would heartily recommend Renaissance to others.

No one else there when we arrived for lunch before a matinee at Sadlers Wells, which was slightly off putting but the service and food were great so no real complaints.
