Patara

About Patara

One of a family of worldwide restaurants, London’s Patara restaurant brings sophisticated Thai dining to Soho’s Greek Street. Tastefully decorated with plenty of atmosphere thanks to subdued lighting, huge pots of orchids, flickering candles, silk-covered banquettes and Thai figurines inlaid with glass mosaic tiles, it’s ideal for a romantic dinner for two. The Patara kitchen is ambitious, producing excellent creations of classic Thai cuisine like tom yum goong soup; beef with green curry and;, of course, pad Thai noodles. The service is renowned for its excellence and the wine list begins at a reasonably-priced level. Someone in the kitchen has an eye for beauty, too, because at Patara restaurant each dish is exquisitely arranged to delight your eye as well as your palate. Patara Thai restaurant is a haven from Soho’s scruffiness; a glamorous, romantic, authentic, professional spot for an excellent dining experience.

Went to Patara on a Sunday evening. Very quiet. Second time of visiting. The service was again very gracious. The food was excellent. Took two, young family members who had nevery tried Thai before, both now converts. Only disappointing thing was the toilets, which I am sure was due to a rather large, raucous party down stairs - but maybe they should have been checked on a more regular basis.

Nice food, friendly staff and enjoyable atmosphere. Not the environment that I would expect for a Thai, but a good place to visit for a higher end Red Thai Curry.

This was an important meeting and so I wanted everything to be especially nice. It was! The welcome was warm and understated but genuine. The ambiance was pleasant - again - quiet and relaxing. The service was attentive and quite quick. Cocktails were delivered and we enjoyed each one. The dishes were beautifully presented and the cooking was of a very high quality. When we had finished, the bill was delivered, but surprisingly the "still mineral water" was charged for, (unordered)
