Great food for the 3 course deal with champagne. The chestnut macaroon was great as well as the starter of duck and chiken salad, the mash was the creamiset ever.

A friend and I went to Brasserie Joel at the Park Plaza in Waterloo yesterday for lunch. The bill came to £100 despite taking advantage of their '2nd anniversary' offer. The offer itself was reasonable, although the starter and main that my friend and I had were what I would call 'average', certainly nothing special. The wine was expensive (£30 for pinot grigio), as was the side dish of potatoes (£5.00). The lunch was not worth £50 ph, and I would not rush back there because of this.
Great food - traditional dishes with strong flavours but with a modern presentation. Shame it's in a weird room in a characterless hotel - not a good match.
We had a fantastic time. The food was great and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend.
