The Princess of Shoreditch

About The Princess of Shoreditch

Tucked away on the City / Shoreditch border, not far from Old Street, the grand old Princess of Shoreditch is a chic urban bar and restaurant which was completely refurbished in October 2009. Operating as a pub and dining room since 1742, The Princess has been given a bespoke makeover and the new boutique-y interior is a fusion of vintage fittings and modern elegance. The downstairs dining room serves up traditional pub classics in the bar, but the Victorian dining room upstairs is gourmand heaven. With its simple bentwood chairs, starched white linens, wooden floors and pale grey walls this space is ideal for business dining, Sunday lunches and romantic date nights.

Nice Sunday roast. Lovely roasted chicken. We had lunch at the pub, and saw the dining room, and I'd say that we really loved it downstairs...

The princess of shoreditch served my friends and me with a delicious Sunday lunch yesterday... I was looking for somewhere near the centre of town that wouldn't be too rammed on a Sunday, would be ok for me bringing our baby and of course that would serve delicious food - this place delivered on all counts and our waiter was exceptionally good too. It is pricey for a Sunday roast (c.£15) but the food is really really good so it's nothing to complain about at all! And the sticky toffee pudding...

Princess of Shoreditch is impossible for a cab to find - make sure you get them to turn directly onto Paul St from Great Eastern or risk getting stuck in the one way maze. Food was good apart from the chips which arrived good and half cooked. And they didn't take the cost off the menu. Service good, wine passable.
