Toptable says about Peninsula Chinese Restaurant
Take a detour on your way to the O2 and drop into Peninsula Chinese Restaurant. Like the bands that play nearby Peninsula has devote fans - many of them Chinese - ensuring this restaurant is full night after night. This bright, buzzy eaterie serves scrummily authentic Cantonese food from a menu as extensive as any in Chinatown. Everything arrives in generous, eat-me-now portions, from grilled dumpling starters to a crispy aromatic Szechuan style duck served whole with thin pancakes, salad and a sweet plum sauce. Lots of lobster and crab dishes, as well as beancurd and vegetable choices for non-meat eaters. Well worth a trip to Greenwich... And it won't break the bank.

This is a large restaurant on the Greenwich Peninsula - very Chinese, both in the ambience (screens carrying ads for cheap fights) and clientele - over half of whom were of Chinese origin. Food is excellent, parking can be tricky (and involves collecting a voucher and taking it back to your car), service acceptable-to-good (though not wild about the waiter who left the Gents without washing his hands ...) In a nutshell: top nosh, average location.
We visited Peninsula Chinese Restaurant before a gig at the o2 as it's only a short walk away. The food was very tasty and the service was good. However the place itself seems quite run down and scruffy it is a nice place to grab a reliable tasty meal but don't go there for a special occasion as you will have a disappointed feel.
I have not been back to this restaurant since their refurbishment and the decor is nicer. Good food as usual.
Peninsula is lovely for a quiet meal. Food was good, nothing fantastic. Expected the Schezchan to be spicy rather than sweet! Portions are very good though, only ordered two starters and two mains (and rice) for two of us and could not fit in desert!
This was our first visit to the Peninsular Restaurant and we were definitely impressed by it. We went prior to visiting the nearby cinema and when it seemed that time was getting short the staff were very helpful in bringing out all our dishes. They also were more than willing to put what we didn't eat into take out containers which we had for lunch the next day! Good value for money and the food was great. Would recommend highly, particularly pre-cinema.
