Whitechapel Bell Foundry
About Whitechapel Bell Foundry
Established since 1570, Whitechapel Bell Foundry is perhaps Britain's oldest manufacturing company. Their business functions solely on the manufacture of bells and their related fittings all of which are more commonly found in church towers. A considerable amount of business also comes from the production of hand bells. Some of their more famous bells include Liberty Bell, the Great Bell of Montreal and Big Ben at the Palace of Westminster which was cast in 1858. The foundry offers tours by appointment on Saturday mornings only.
