Skylon
About Skylon
Skylon’s triple height picture windows provide panoramic views along the river.
Skylon captures the creative energy and excitement of London in the 21st century.
Helena Puolakka is one of the shining stars among female Head Chefs. Her lightness of touch and love of presentation, as well as her Finnish origins- come to the fore in the main restaurant, all day dining in the Grill and an excellent children’s menu.
Skylon Bar is a destination in its own right frequented by a “heady mix” of culture vultures that brush shoulders with magazine editors to members of Parliament.

Lunch at the Skylon Grill on the South Bank was disappointing. Service was lacksadaisical (the manager had to tell our waiter at least twice to take our order) the food (fishcakes for us both) was unexciting and the (carafe) wine is outrageouly priced. I can think of many better places where a two course lunch totalling ober £100 for two would have been muchn better elsewhere. Shall NOT return.
Skylon Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, Southbank, London, SE1 8XX Very attentive and friendly service, and the food was lovely. They mad ea special effort for a birthday too which wasn't mentioned beforehand, and moved us to the seats near the windows when they became available. Lovely long lunch
Lovely meal at the Skylon and as ever, excellent service. Several of us had the confit of duck which was delicious and my friend really enjoyed her fish. The only flaw was the onglet steak which was bland but when we said so it was immediately taken off the bill so no complaints there. It's a reasonable TT deal at lunchtime so try it.
Skylon is a classy place to eat. Get a window table to watch the boats go by and take in one of the most iconic views in the world. Fishcakes were good and an interesting choice of desserts. I'd go again.
Lunch at Skylon was very pleasant, lovely sunday roast, and friendly efficient staff it would have been enhanced if we had been lucky enough to have a table by the window.
