Tucked away inside the West Lodge Park Hotel, the Mary Beale Restaurant and Bar provides an elegant but unpretentious setting for any occasion. Enviably located close to Trent Park and Hadley Wood, the dining room is a traditionally stylish space with huge windows letting in plenty of natural light. Executive Chef Wayne Turner and his team use locally sourced produce to create seasonal British dishes and a selection of snacks and light options which are served in the bar. We recommend the organic salmon with dill risotto and the Sacombe Hill Farm beef fillet with mushroom gratin. Mary Beale Restaurant, West Lodge Park, Hadley Wood, EN4 0PY Friendly and attentive staff. Good choice of dishes on set lunch menu - all well presented and tasty and good value. Wheelchair friendly - 3 when we were there. Hotel and restaurant seemed recently refurbished with very pleasant ambience and added advantage of arboretum in the grounds for after lunch stroll. Would recommend
Like an old people's home but food ok. Wine list terrible
There were two of us, one of whom was vegetarian and there was a poor selection of food to choose from. My companion rated her visit 7:10 because of the seating arrangements. The chairs were really comfortable but the wrong height from which to eat. She thought her meal was excellent.
Delicious food. Staff very pleasant but not up to the standard I would expect for the price and ambience of the meal. Perhaps need more supervision or training.
The Mary Beale Restaurant provided a wonderful meal. The staff were lovely and well trained. Having said it was our anniversary, they remembered and gave us a glass of champagne each. The food is all cooked to perfection, and although to begin with it looked as though the starters would be difficult for some of our party (lots of Game and Shellfish) the staff suggested us a starter portion of the vegetable stroganoff which was terriffic and different.! We all enjoyed our evening and will return
