The simple charms of The Belle Vue have made it a bit of a Clapham institution in recent years. Not only somewhere for commuters to pop in for a pint on their way through (The Belle Vue is conveniently close to Clapham Common tube), it’s also a spot where locals enjoy the calm atmosphere of a restaurant along with the home style comforts of a favourite pub. As the lights are dimmed diners find themselves ensconced in a cosy setting where faded gilt mirrors, button backed banquettes and chunky scrubbed wooden tables provide a modern take on old Victorian pub décor. The pared down styling continues on a traditional menu which changes to suit the seasons but will more often than not offer favourites such as fish and chips, honey roast ham with fried egg and delicious chargrilled steaks.

As always, a great time out!
The Belle Vue was rather disappointing. The food was OK but the choice was limited. The rugby was incredibly loud - to the point where we left and went elsewhere. My real ale was cloudy and the whole place feels a tad stale and tired. There is better locally.
We went to The Belle Vue in Clapham to meet up for drinks and a bite to eat on a Saturday afternoon. The food and the atmosphere were great. Good place to meet friends for a catch up. Not too noisy and a nice cosy feel.
The Belle Vue was our ofice choice for a xmas meal. Eating area is booked tables in the main pub drinking area that is time limited. No Xmas menu on offer and was told we should have asked at booking? main menu adequate with varied options. A good place in for that after work evening to wind down with a mixture of clientele and good atmosphere. A pity the eating area was not seperate from the bar.
As always, great service and great food. Good selection of drinks... I would love it if they brought the steak sandwich back to the menu, though!
