Banyan on the Thames

About Banyan on the Thames

Set inside London's most exclusive eco-friendly hotel, Rafael on the Left Bank, Banyan on the Thames is a chic restaurant overlooking the river and the London Helipad in Battersea. With so much action right outside its sound-proofed windows, this is a fantastic place to watch the world go by. And super-tanned sun-lovers adore the riverside roof terrace for summertime dining. The Hotel Rafayel is popular with an international, glamorous yet ecologically-sensitive set of travellers, and the Banyan on Thames is open to serve them – and you - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is a melange of European, Asian and Mediterranean flavours, fusion cuisine at its finest. Favourite dishes here include the duck confit in a ginger and lime sweet and sour sauce; the mango and papaya salad with curry chicken; and the Barcelona traditional fish soup. Banyan on the Thames makes the most of the peace and tranquillity of its ideal riverside location.

Banyan on Thames was an elegant setting, very good service and lovely views. An unusual choice of background music (pop songs) for quite an up market image, started to feel a little 'pub-like', would've preferred something more modest and less intrusive. Food, whilst well cooked and presented, with good choices, would be overpriced if full price rather than 50% off. Portion sizes modest.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Banyan in London and had an excellent Californian Pinot Noir. Staff were polite and accommodating. Sadly the pasta in my lobster ravioli starter was undercooked and very mean on actual lobster, otherwise the food was delicious. The music was too loud. Though they turned it down when we asked it grew louder again as the evening went on and it was obtrusive. With 50% off the food was good value and we'd return but only if we had a discount.

great value with the 50% discount otherwise would be very expensive.watch out for the main course supplements added to your bill and the spirits/drinks are served as doubles (hence the price)

The food is nice and thoughtful. However the dining area is placed right next to a 'private' party area where it did get quite noisy at times. Was initially going for a quiet romantic dinner so that was a disappointment. Overall a nice dining experience especially with the offer available.
