A regular to kingsland roads "pho mile", but a first time at Hung Viet. Smaller room mean that the service is much better than some of the larger establishments. Food all very good, with some dishes noticeably standing out ffrom those served elsewhere. Especially recommend the whole sea bream with mango and first sauce. Worth noting that portions are very much on the large side - which is good and bad. Will be back
We enjoyed our visit to Hung Viet, a small Vietnamese restaurant in NE London, the service was friendly, and the food good and very reasonably priced. We opted for a selection of dishes to share, the vegetables were fresh and delicious, and the meat dishes, while slightly over salted, to our taste, were rich and satisfying. Overall it was a very enjoyable evening. NOTE, Hung Viet does not accept card payments.
The food here is just bad. My starter, a Crispy Crepe, was hard enough to damage teeth. My shaking beef left me unmoved. It was bland and tasteless. And then there was the very loud Vietnamese variety show on the TV blaring at me. Very loud. I am sorry, but I just cannot recommend eating here. The family who own it were nice, but I wanted a good tasting meal without a loud TV.
