Aqua Brasserie

About Aqua Brasserie

A slice of the big city in Croydon, Aqua Brasserie is the brainchild of experienced chefs Dasos Charalambous and Dario Nardo. Both come to Aqua fresh from some of London’s top hotels, bringing with them the eye for detail and knowledge of good service characteristic of the best dining rooms of the capital. A contemporary space which will doubtless appeal to the young and fashionable, Aqua Brasserie has a slick design in monochrome tones and with plenty of exposed brick, glossy wooden floors and, the pièce de résistance, a vast open kitchen behind which the chefs work with a flourish and a smile. Informed by bright, sunny Mediterranean flavours, Aqua Brasserie’s menus is mainly Greek but with a good splash of Italian in the pastas and risottos and a sprinkle of French for good measure. The meze plate for two is an ideal selection for relaxed but romantic dining, accompanied by one of the good value, high quality wines on the Aqua list.

There's a shortage of good restaurants in Croydon, so Aqua Brasserie is a welcome addition. Good food and good value. I'll definitely be returning.

Dined at Aqua Brasserie, Southend Croydon for the first time on Saturday evening. We were initially the only diners (at 6pm) but the restaurant filled out very quickly, and by the time we left (approx 8.30pm) there were diners waiting to be seated! This explained our service being slightly rushed towards the end. However, food was great, very generous portions and waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Lively atmosphere too with party music.

Tried Aqua for the first time last night, Monday, as it does 50% off their 3 steak choice which are quite expensive so thought it was a good time to go. My son and I shared the Mini Greek Meze as a starter and had a rib eye and a sirloin steak as mains. My other son went for the fixed menu and had whitebait and a rump steak. The starters were fantastic and the steaks excellent. They also served excellent complimentary olives and bread. All for £20 each. I shall definitely go again.
