Toptable says about Carluccio's
Another branch of the hugely successful Carluccio's café chain -- now in Charter Quay, Kingston. Located on the west side of town, Carluccio's is situated on Jerome Place facing the river front plaza and the popular Italian restaurant is always packed for working lunches, breakfast meetings, coffee and cake catch-ups and evening meals. The contemporary interior with clean lines, combined with café's trademark convivial ambience, have made this restaurant a staple on the local dining scene. Favourite dishes include the Penne Giadiniera with courgettes, chilli, deep fried spinach balls, parmesan and garlic; the Branzino con Salsa e Patate – sea bass pan-fried with tomato salsa and sautéed potatoes; and the Spaghetti alle Vongole in Bianco with fresh clams and chilli.

A particularly good evening at Carluccios. We were eating relatively late (9.30) but there was no feeling that they wanted us out at the end of the evening. Very good specials--including an unusual linguine with fresh mint and lemon-
and, as always, fantastically good value for exceptional pastas. The Carluccio formula works very well-- committed staff, stunning interiors. The Kingston riverside branch is especially attractive and well-run.
My pork escalope was veyr greasy but my friend's gnocchi was very good. Nice ambience and atmosphere considering it was a Monday night
Good basic italian food in a pleasant atmosphere. You get what you pay for, and the 2 for 1 deal helped. Not a gastronomic treat but reasonable and tasty italian dishes.
Carluccio’s - Kingston - freezing weather, meant little atmosphere. Food was average. The deal they have on is good though - wine, starter, main coffe for around £12
Unforutnately I don't eat Pasta as this is the best value on the menu. The chicken dishes are also nice, but avoid having steak - its never a particularly good cut and always a bit tough. The calves livers were good, if slightly overcooked. The starters are generally big enough to share. Lovely for lunch or early dinner, but nothing special.
