About Proud Galleries

The Strand Gallery was launched in 2010 by the Proud Group. Building on its ten year history as Proud Central, one of London’s most talked about photographic galleries, The Strand Gallery has opened its doors to all mediums of visual art with an international, high profile programme of exhibitions that launched with an inaugural show by Martin Parr. Split across two floors offering 1200 square foot of exhibition space, The Strand Gallery is situated in the heart of the city and is the newest gallery to be founded by Alex Proud; owner of three prestigious galleries located in London.

    Art

    6 Feb 2012 to 12 Feb 2012

Ashden presents ‘Life without Lights’ a remarkable exhibition by award-winning American photographer, Peter DiCampo. Each visitor will be handed a solar lamp to light their way through the gallery. Through photographs taken in Ghana, Life without Lights brings home the reality of living without electricity – and shows how the sustainable energy solutions offered by Ashden Award winners can lift people out of poverty and into the modern world.
