Punch Bowl
About Punch Bowl
Despite being famous for its celebrity owner – Guy Ritchie – and its A-list clientele, the Punch Bowl in London’s Mayfair still remains a brilliant little boozer and local restaurant located on Farm Street, close to the Mount Street Gardens. Busy with a suited after-work crowd, this local haunt dates all the way back to 1750, making it the second oldest pub in Mayfair. Filled with character, the wood-panelled, candlelit dining room is removed from the crush of the front bar and is a cosy spot for tables for two or small dinner parties. The menu is heralded as ‘British fusion cuisine’, which means that it is full of gourmet dishes such as wild salmon served on brown soda bread, Gressingham duck with a carrot and star anise puree and plenty of homemade puds. With an impressive wine list to boot, the Punch Bowl is a great place enjoy British bonhomie at its best.
