HIX

About HIX

Boasting a name synonymous with high quality cookery, the Hix restaurant in London’s Soho is, of course, the brainchild of Mark Hix – The Independent columnist and the restaurant chef. In chic surroundings, dotted with artworks from the likes of Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Tim Noble and Sue Webster, guests are invited to enjoy the very best of British from an utterly Hixsian menu. Celebrating the flavours and traditions of the UK, Hix offers a wide selection of meat and fish dishes to be enjoyed in the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere of the restaurant. After dining, guests may wish to retire to the basement bar – Mark’s – with its clubby, laid back feel and delightfully creative cocktails.

Great food and very friendly service. Some of had the set menu and the food was very good. Wines and champagne are good value if you choose wisely and the wine waiter is very knowledgeable. The restaurant can be a bit noisy when full as it is bit echoey,

Hix Soho was very nice, I took the soup and lamb chops from the set menu and both were excellent. Very rich and filling, cooked very nicely.

The food is excellent. Although even if you plump for the set menu and wine it can be deceptively expensive. Lovely gulls eggs - but at £5.50 a pop not cheap

Simply stunning and sophisticated dining at Hix on Brewer Street. This is by far the most splendid high quality meal that I have sampled all year. The Oysters were fleshy and milky (just a shame they only had 2 remaining of the rock). But the selection of steak for main course is thrilling; we had the portion for 2; it was cooked to absolute perfection. I will not forget this meal as long as I live!!
