Rasa W1

About Rasa W1

If the words 'vegetarian' and 'banquet' have never appeared in one sentence for you, then you haven't yet tried Rasa W1. The menu features only authentic cuisine from Kerala on India's spice-rich Malabar Coast, served on a huge, fresh banana leaf. If you have the adventurous spirit, try the Kerala Feast, an exquisite mix of flavours and textures from across the menu - the chefs are happy to include any dishes that you fancy. A favourite from the a la carte menu is moru kachiathu, sweet mangos and green bananas cooked in yoghurt with green chillies, ginger, and fresh curry leaves. The pickles and chutneys alone are almost worth the trip. Shortish, wide-ranging wine list. Plush surroundings and welcoming service add to the pleasures of the meal.

Rasa W1 is in a great location just off Oxford St and the food is amazing - not like any food you'd find in an average Indian restaurant. All very authentic South Indian dishes, with interesting and mouth-watering descriptions! The service is excellent too - ver friendly. Would highly recommend.

Delicious, a favorite. Delicate South Indian food, full of taste. One of my absolute favorites in London.

Rasa W1 is always good for supper before a concert at Wigmore Hall. We enjoyed our prawn curry and beetroot and spinach curries. Also the cabbage with coconut and lentis. The poppadoms and pickles are £6.50 but we can never resist. Service was somewhat strained by the 2 Christmas parties but we managed to get our order into the kitchen first and got to the concert well on time!

Great South Indian restaurant - good food with the right spices. The hopper is a good choice and go for any fish curry, a typical Indian delight
