Sports Bar & Grill

About Sports Bar & Grill

Located at London's Marylebone station, within walking distance of Baker Street, the Sports Bar and Grill restaurant is an upmarket venue geared towards local football fans, city commuters and corporate events. The open plan kitchen and dining room are decorated with exposed bricks, blackboard menus, orange feature walls and modern chandeliers, while the basement bar is a perfect spot for laid-back after-work, pre-match drinks with friends. The restaurant's menu is classic British with a nod across the Atlantic, and favourites include the rack of BBQ ribs with fries; the Cajun chicken burger with cheese, and the Cumberland sausages with mash and gravy. Don't miss the stellar puddings – we recommend the chocolate brownie sundae.

I picked Sports Bar & Grill in Marylebone because we were headed to Wimbley for the Rugby and heard there are no good places nearby but that it's a quick tube ride from Baker St. so best to go somewhere around there. English Breakfast was ok. Cappuccino was not but what do you expect from a Sport Bar. They lady who called to confirm my researvation after I booked it online was annoying and asked too many personal questions about my plans for the day and why I wanted to come in.

Called beforehand to see if they showed the Real Madrid game. THey said yes... Got there and they said because of the crowd they'd only show the second half as they were showing NFL and a Serie A match. Of course this was after I sat down and ordered a few drinks. Needless to see wasn't impressed. Food was ok and ambience ok, but the beginning made this a little bit of lousy experience...

Having dined at the Victoria venue the day before, Marylebone was a much more sedate affair. Again, good vfm food and efficient friendly service.
