Tatra

About Tatra

Sausage aficionados and dumpling connoisseurs adore Tatra, a stylish little restaurant on Goldhawk Road near Shepherds Bush station serving hearty Polish and Eastern European fare. The dim lighting, warm colours and friendly staff here result in a welcoming atmosphere perfect for both parties and intimate meals, and the dining room itself has exposed brick walls, a stainless steel bar and an abundance of fresh flowers. Star dishes at Tatra restaurant include the Russian dumplings with braised onion and bacon, the grilled black pudding, and the marinated herring served with new potatoes, and an apple and beetroot salad. Tatra also serves a delicious selection of home-made vodkas - don't leave without trying the cherry, pear or black pepper flavours.

We had an early pre-concert meal, so the restaurant was initially quiet, but filling progressively. The food was excellent, starting with a mixed blini platter, mains of chicken kiev and, for my wife, perogi dumplings, followed by creme brulee and a couple of flavoured vodka shots. Tatra provides a comfortable environment and the service is efficient and friendly.

Tatra offers clean tasting Polish food in a restrained setting. Friendly staff. We were worried how few other diners were present
