Restaurant 109

About Restaurant 109

Restaurant 109 first opened its doors in 1998 and it has been a firm favourite with Richmond locals ever since. Enjoying an enviable location just moments from Kew Gardens; the restaurant itself is a small, intimate space – ideal for mid-week dinners with friends or a laid-back Sunday lunch with the family. The Chef puts locally sourced produce to good use in European-inspired dishes like foie gras on a toasted baguette with tomato and cumin chutney; roast chicken with lemon, sweet potato and scallions; and rib eye steak with béarnaise sauce. Alongside a concise wine list and an affordable fixed price menu; Restaurant 109 also boasts an excellent pudding menu – the raspberry crème brulee is well worth saving room for!

Restaurant 109, Richmond. Small restaurant - make sure you get a table in the front section (but NOT the one by the front door) - the back is soulless. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Special menu is dull so we went a la carte - much more choice. menu sounds much more exciting than the food that arrives.

Bit of a disappointment - we were expecting more having read teh reviews. The starter we both had was extremely bland and the Sunday roast had obviuosly been pre-plated and then heated up in a microwave. It came out steaming with a skin on the gravy and cauliflower cheese (at least that's what I think it was). Prices are very cheap but woudl prefer to pay more for a better quality meal. Unlikely to go back.

Another great dinner @ 109. Lovely hearty food for a cold winter's night with music classics from the 70s to take you on a trip down memory lane.

We went to restaurant 109 on Thursday evening. The food and service were very good. House wine was really good. The only shortage was the lack of choice in set menu, which is completely different to a sample set menu on toptable.com website. I would recommend it for a 2-4 people evening together in a quite and homy place.

This was a pre-arranged birthday celebration at Restaurant 109. Endless trouble had been taken. A printed menu of our chosen meal was presented to us on arrival. The food was delicious, from courgette fritters, through avocado cream soup, to main course lobster, followed by a magnificent cheese board, and finally the luscious birthday cake. Service was faultlessly attentive but without pressure. Clearly this is a place where special occasions can be done as expertly as the odd casual meal.
