Osteria Del Mercato

About Osteria Del Mercato

Filled with natural light and slick city types, this first-floor Italian restaurant in Leadenhall Market is a stylish eatery with a vibrant energy and understated décor. The dining room at Osteria del Mercato is bright and airy, and decorated with oak floors, blonde wooden furniture, crisp white linens and an array of colourful china and glassware imported from Italy. Ideal for business meetings, romantic tables for two and intimate dinner parties, the menu at Osteria del Mercato is filled with suitably posh pastas and authentic Italian dishes – we love the swordfish tartare with fennel salad; the tortiglioni pasta with veal ragu; and the spinach and ricotta tortelloni with butter and sage.

Food was ok, a bit bland and quite expensive. Good location for lunch meeting as you can here what you are saying!

The food was really very good. The waitress was excellent. It is expensive. 110 for dinner with 1 glass of wine. They are mean with the prosciutto in the starter. They charge 2.80 for small glass of diet coke which they don't even give you the full 340 ml can. I think I had to pay 5.60 for a 60 p can of coke. The bread wasn't fresh. These are minor niggles and easy to fix. I hope they do as the food is really very good which is what it is all about.
