North Nineteen

About North Nineteen

Set in the increasingly gentrified Holloway area of North London, North Nineteen is a sign of the times. Where once you might have expected to find spit and sawdust now lies the model contemporary pub-restaurant. Not one detail has been missed here. Stripped wooden floors, reclaimed glamour meets austere Scandinavian design and the all important comfy armchairs. Similarly the mainly British food menu has been thoroughly updated so that those old deep fried classics are now fresh, delicious and always home cooked. European influences add a welcome twist while North Nineteen’s Sunday Roast has become local legend.

I booked the restaurant for 8 people yesterday. Top table had a really ncie picture of the place but lets just say looks are decieving. it is quite dark and very small. I chose the restaurant because of the menu but when I arrived I was told they were only doing sunday roast.Roast was ok I had lamb and th portions were very generous. I wouldnt rate the meal as it was just average 5 out of 10. the service was better though so credit to the waiteress. Would I recommend or go a again? no and no.

North Nineteen (London) is a nice, no-nonsense pub. It's got good real ale, the publican has a sense of humour, the food is fine, and 2 courses at £11.50 was good value. I wouldn't call it a gastro pub as it has no pretensions - just a straight forward , pleasant place to spend an evening.

went there after reading the review. I was told that the RIbs were excellent. They were tasty, but a little on the dry side. Cajun burger was so so. North 19 burger, was decent. It was a little disappointing that not much attention was paid to whether we wanted more drinks. The guy serving was friendly enough to start with, but after delivering our food and deserts (pecan pie = excellent) didn't pay attention or had the courtesy to say bye.

Really lovely atmosphere. No real discount negotiated here- the top table offer is very similar to the offer available at the restaurant for set menus.
