Toptable says about Fabrizio

Situated on Highgate Hill, moments from the affluent suburbs of North London; this charming Italian eatery is the ideal setting for laid-back lunches, mid-week dinners and full-on feasts with the family. The restaurant is run by Fabrizio himself who spent his childhood working in his father's restaurant in Rome and later won the hearts of Hampstead locals at La Gaffe. His fans have followed him to the new restaurant to indulge in his speciality - a metre long pizza with four toppings of their choice – perfect for sharing. Other classic Italian dishes are available and fresh pasta is offered as part of a set menu every Thursday. The dessert menu changes throughout the week and features homemade delights like traditional tiramisu.

We really enjoyed our meal in Fabrizio's last night. Great food, nice wine and really nice staff made for a great local find which we will definitely revisit. There were only two other people in though, which seemed strange for such a nice, reasonable place on a Saturday night so hopefully trade will pick up for this great find to survive the credit crunch!

I had a very special dinner at Fabrizio's. My rack of lamb in mint sauce was delicious and my partner's seabass was also top quality. No wonder celebrities are coming here. There was Ray Davies The Kinks' singer next to us!!! Also my boyfriend collected a take-away pizza last night and there was Chris Moyles party. Unbelievable!

The food was of varying quality. The selection of starters was a disaster. Everything deep fried in an Italian restaurant... not what one expects. The main course was good. We had two different kinds of pasta. One with nice fresh porcini (which are almost impossible to get in Britain) but much too much olive oil.

The tiramisu was very average.

The nice thing about the place is that it is very small and you can talk to the owner/chef about what he can cook.

Overpriced for what and where it is.

Fabrizio is a lovely, warm restaurant with a neighbourly feel. Conveniently located down the hill from Highgate Village, we will visit again for a quiet mid-week meal. The food was fairly typical for an Italian restaurant, well-prepared and tasty.

A difficult booking for Fabrizio as initially for 10, then for 12 and we ended up 16 of us. Service was great, accommodating, friendly and nothing too elaborate. Food came quickly enough and thought the starters were nothing too elaborate, they were nice enough. Pizzas were great, including pizza to share by the meter. Veal dish was nice but a rather small serving. Out of three dishes, 2 were deducted from the bill, can't be more honest! Will go back to Fabrizio.
